Versilia is a territory that occupies an area of about 160 km located in the north west of Tuscany. Entirely included in the province of Lucca, it overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea and has behind the Apuan Alps, famous for the extraction of white marble.
The territory is divided in two main areas: Alta Versilia – including the municipalities of Stazzema and Serravezza – and Bassa Versilia – including the municipalities of Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta, Camaiore, Viareggio and Massarosa.
Versilia, famous for being a symbol of luxury and fun, is an area with a high tourist vocation and offers endless opportunities for enjoyment and relaxation, always in unique and prestigious places. Elegant and exclusive beach resorts, the first of which built in the late nineteenth century, allow you to spend days on the beach with high-level comforts and amenities; the night clubs represent the image of summer evenings and the famous Italian nightlife – which make of this area the place for luxury holidays in Italy.
The inland offers various possibilities among the towns with historical, cultural and artistic traditions and visitors may choose between excursions, walks, cultural events, dinners in fine restaurants or in typical Tuscan trattorias. The area offers the opportunity to spend pleasant stays throughout the year.
The proximity to many Tuscan cities of art – Lucca, Siena, Pisa with its airport – and the Cinque Terre, make the position of Versilia particularly strategic.
